Re: Studio Report Glasperlen? On topic: If the drumming on all the songs sounds as good as in the clip posted before and if the others do an equally good job, the new album will definitely something to look forward to.

Hey Folks,
nachdem wir (Alex und Daniel) vergangenen Freitag mit den Gitarrenaufnahmen begonnen haben, stand heute der letzte Studiotag für die Gitarrenaufnahmen auf dem Plan.
Bevor die eigentlichen Aufnahmen beginnen konnten galt es für uns zunächst den künftigen Gitarrensound durch die Wahl der Box und der passenden Mikrofonierung zu formen.
Im Anschluss folgten die Aufnahmen der Rhythmus- und Sologitarren welche mittlerweile abgeschlossen sind. Heute bekamen die Gitarrenlinien schließlich durch die Aufnahmen der noch fehlenden Akustikgitarren den letzten Schliff bevor Birgit am Montag mit dem einspielen der Bassspuren beginnt. Somit sind alle Gitarrenparts fertig!
Markus Stock war wieder einmal in der Lage unsere Vorstellungen umzusetzen und verpasste dem neuen Album einen passend fetten Sound der den Songs den nötigen Druck verleiht, ohne dabei steril zu klingen.

Hey Folks,
after we (Alex and Daniel) started with the guitarrecordings last Friday, the last studio
day for the guitars was on the plan today.
Before the actual recordings could start, we first had to shape the future guitar sound by the choice of the boxes and the right microphone setup. The tecordings of the rhythm and solo guitars followed, which are meanwhile completed. Today the guitar recordings got the last polish by recording the missing acoustic parts, so finally all guitar parts are done now!
So Birgit will start with the bass recordings on Monday.
Markus Stock was absolutely able to convert our ideas again and gave the new album a suitably fat sound, which gives the songs the necessary power and preasure.

Juchey, die Bassaufnahmen sind im Kasten! Nachdem die Gitarristen am Freitag noch die letzten Spuren eingespielt haben und Chris, Alex und ich das Wochenende gemütlich (bzw. mit Kater) in unserem Mellrichstädter Heim verbracht haben, ging es am Montag mit den Bassaufnahmen weiter. Erst mal den Monsterbasssound einstellen, Bass stimmen und losrocken! Am Ende des ersten Tages hatte ich die Hälfte der Songs eingezockt und hab mich dabei einfach nur gefreut, welchen fetten Sound Markus zaubert und welch geile Vorlage mein Schlagzeuger und meine Gitarristen mir geliefert hatten! Am nächsten Tag war so die zweite Hälfte dran, mit dem ein oder anderen zusätzlichen „Schmankerl“. Mittwochvormittag habe ich noch für ein paar Akustikparts genutzt und meine Kindheitsversuche an der Maultrommel wieder aufleben lassen. Schön war´s, hat wieder riesig Spaß gemacht, und jetzt bin ich gespannt, wie unser Keyboarder Daniel, der jetzt im Anschluss an mich einspielt, noch die Songs verfeinert!

P.S. Morgen gibt’s noch ein paar Fotos außerhalb des Studios, damit ihr auch mal seht was wir Sols nach „Studioschluss“ noch so treiben.

Yes, the bass recordings are done! After the guitarists had completed the last guitar tracks on Friday and Chris, Alex and I had spent a cosy weekend in our “Mellrichstadt home”, we con-tinued with the bass recordings on Monday. First of all we adjusted the monsterbasssound, af-terwards I tuned the bass and then I was ready to rock! At the end of the first day I had completed half of the songs and I was just happy, which awesome sound Markus can produce and which great work my drummer and guitarists had done! The next day it was time for the second half of the songs, which one or another goody. Wednesday morning I still used for some acoustic parts and I let my attempts on the jaw’s harp during childhood live up again. It was a great time, I had again a lot of fun and I’m excited how our keyboarder Daniel, who will play after me, will refine the songs now!

I am trying to think did I hear that before from you guys?... probably Tårefall? Are you gonna do an unplugged track on your new album? Anyway, looking at the last photo, it looks bass playing is *very* tiring I guess the weather is a bit hot down there as well? Hope you got some air in the studio... I am anxious for the post-studio pics you talked about -- and needless to say, some audio/video is always most appreciated! Cheers, Peter

Hello Peter, thanks for comment. Yes, you could hear an acoustic bass before on "New horizon" from Nordlys. But because of the deep tones it´s not always easy to hear. And to be honest, not playing the bass made us so tired (which is of course also very exhausting ), it was the Jack Daniels, Jim Beam, Uso and Caipriniha which kept us awake most of the night, so that we just fell asleep when Daniel started to play the keys Wednesday afternoon right after me. But if Daniel played a wrong tone (sorry Daniel), we immediately raised our heads and were awake again
